Get Your Joy On!

Take a deep breath, and ask yourself: What brings me joy?

What comes up for you when you ask yourself this question? Are you flooded with things that bring you joy? Does it take a minute to have something come to mind? Does it fill you with dread?

Yesterday I was at home enjoying a day off and happened to look out the window. I saw Stuart, our resident groundhog, curled up in the sun. For a minute I thought he had died because he was so still. Then I got the binoculars and saw that he had curled up like a cat and was taking a nap.

Next, I looked out a different window and to my surprise I saw a young deer doing laps around our field. At first I thought it was just one, but then several deer got the zoomies and were chasing each other. They looked so free and happy, and it brought me joy to see them frolicking with the excitement that spring is in the air.

For me, nature is one of the things that brings me huge satisfaction and joy. When the ‘Rona started a year ago, I was intentional about walking along Spring Creek every day, both to get out of the house and be with nature. Since moving I get to watch the birds, deer, turkeys, and groundhog from my kitchen. I get to dig in the dirt and be surprised by the daffodils and crocuses.

Your challenge today is to do one thing that brings you joy!

We’d love to hear from you, so please respond with your one thing. 😊

Stay curious friends!
